As BPWI permanent representative to UNESCO and wih a Masters on the role of British civil society (case of the Child Poverty Action Group) and PhD in anglophone and gender studies, I would like to share my knowledge and experience on empowerment and advocacy for women's rights. Using the opportunities I have had to work with the NGOs groups at Unesco, collaborate for the organisation of international forums and contribute to oral and written statements as well as presentations in conferences , I expect attendees to exchange with me on the ways and means of empowerment and advocacy for women's rights. The ultimate objective of the workshop is to identify the recurring obstacles women are faced with and contribute to strategies to overcome them and counter the resistance to the advance of women's rights.
